  Introduction:

When the test sample burns in the 0.864 m3 internal volume of the chamber with an installed internal light to observe the specimen's properties and a ventilating opening with an emission fan to remove the combustion gas, UL94 measures the combustion properties (after flame, after glow) by burner (H-5025 UL tirrill burner).

The auto burner moving system and auto specimen moving system in the UL 94-AVH meet the requirements for the whole test. This automatic burner moving system contains a goniometer, allowing it to adjust the flame's angle with the specimen (0, 20, 30, 45, or 90 degrees).

The user can regulate this equipment, verify the after-flame and after-glow times during testing, and modify the angle with the use of a control box and remote controller.

  Standard:

1.UL 94HB Horizontal Burning Test (ASTM D 5048 or ISO 10351).

Test procedure:

1. The number of samples of each thickness is 3 pieces. Before the test, the condition should be processed by 48 hours in a constant temperature and humidity box with a temperature of 23 ° C and a relative humidity of 50%.

2. During the installation of the sample, its long axis surface is horizontal, and the short axis surface is 45 degrees.

3. Draw a standard line of each sample at 25 mm and 1 00 mm at each end of them.

4. Fixed one end at each sample test, and the distance from the bottom edge of the sample to the metal silk mesh below it is 10mm.

5. The sample fireware is the raw lamp. The color of the flame should be blue, and the flame height is 20mm. The flame is applied to the free end of the sample.

6. If the sample continues to burn after the igniter is removed, then the time of the flames should be recorded from the first standard line and spread to the time used to stop.

7. Calculate the burning speed: the distance between the two standard lines (75mm) /flame spread time (the time measured in the previous step, min).

2.UL 94 V-0, V-1, or V-2 Vertical Burning Test (ASTM D 3801, IEC 707, or ISO 1210).

Vertical Burning Test at 3.500w (125mm): 5VA or 5VB (ASTM D 4804 or ISO 9773).

4.Vertical Burning Test on Thin Material, VTM-0, VTM-1, or VTM-2 (ASTM D 4804 or ISO 9773)

5.Horizontal Burning Foamed Material Test: HF-1, HF-2, or HBF (ASTM D 4986 or ISO/DIS 9772.3)

6.KS M 3015: Thermosetting plastics testing procedure

Liquid unsaturated polyester resins for fiber-reinforced plastics are KS M 3305.

8.KS M 3809: Rigid urethane foam thermal insulation material

Cellular plastics-Determination of horizontal burning properties of small specimens exposed to a small flame (9.KS M ISO 9772)

  Feature:

1. Automatic sample moving system that permits the automatic movement and removal of sample to the ignition source (The Switch "MOVE1" in the control box enables random control and operation by user).

2. Auto Burner Moving System, which offers user-controlled random control and operation and allows for the standardization of varied ignition times and burner angles.

3. The Auto Burner Lifting System, which enables the operator to change the specimen's height and apply lifting flame, is controlled by the switch and remote controller switch "MOVE3" in the control box.

4. A Cable Handy Remote Controller for the Auto Burner Moving System and Timer 1, 2, and 3 in the UL 94-AVH Control Box.

5. A double-coated chamber with internal lighting and an exhaust fan to quickly discharge combustion gas. Its internal volume is 0.864 m3.

6. Burner Calibration Kit for ASTM D 5207 to measure 20mm and 125mm flame (Copper slug thermocouple and digital thermal indicator for 20mm flame and 125mm flame).

7. A thermal indicator and thermocouple connector in the control box allow the Copper Slug to calibrate flame calories (ASTM D 5207).

8. A burner that complies with ASTM D 5025 is outfitted with a precision control system that includes a manometer, frame, gas flow meter, and goniometer that allows for the adjustment of burner angles (0, 20, 30, 45, and 90).

9. The Control Box is swivel-adjustable at intervals of 30 degrees, enabling user-specific time modification and timer operation.

10. A sliding door constructed of reinforced glass that allows users to view the sample while preventing toxic gas inhalation during testing.

11. 2 access ports on the front of the chamber to transfer and fix samples, adjust the burner and other chamber-mounted components, and prevent the operator from breathing poisonous gases.

12. A clamp that makes it easier to separate and attach the test sample.

13. Devices and accessories to alter burner angle and flame form in various test procedures according to specifications (For example, accessories capable of HBF, HF, and ISO 9772 tests).

14. Three digital timers to measure the time of the after flame, after glow, and after flame simultaneously.

Test result:

1. Flame persisted even after the firing source vanished.

2. After flame time: the amount of time required for an ongoing flame under specific circumstances (unit: second)

3. After glow: Even after an ignition source and flame vanish, glowing combustion maintained.

4. After glow Time: The amount of time required for the after glow to last under specific circumstances (unit: second)

5. Deteriorated length (Damaged length of test sample, unit: mm)

6. Flamed the cotton indicator using a drip (Ignition of cotton by a dropped flame piece)
